Quantum Beez Sdn Bhd was established in 1998. Our company developed Malaysia's first Parallel Cluster in 1998 and was awarded MSC Malaysia Status. Quantum Beez is a pioneer in high performance computing, bioinformatics, grid computing, portal development, Linux, and open source based solutions. We are currently looking for suitably qualified candidates to join our team.

System Engineer
(UPM-MTDC, Serdang)

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Technical Manager to design, plan and implement cluster system infrastructure including new environments and architecture and upgrades.
  • To provide System designs, monitor report and resolve problems timely, based on industry's best practices.
  • Ensuring all Service Level Agreements with customers (internal and external) are met and maintained.
  • To research and develop cost effective and scalable technical systems architecture and solutions to ensure B2BE can maintain its cost effectiveness, and provide relevant solutions to continue the provision of high end available systems and software.
  • Implementing, configuring and maintaining network appliances, computer hardware and software.
  • Managing security such as user accounts, passwords, storage space, and file-access privileges.
  • Ensure ongoing security of the system and network including any enhancements from time to time.
  • Manage infrastructure servers such as web, application server, DNS, FTP, MySQL, postgresql, Oracle, samba and AD
  • Setup, manage and enhance system alert monitoring tools from time to time.
  • Ensuring all critical system services is monitored to meet up-time requirements.
  • Helping Network Administrators to manage network communication and technical infrastructure as well as design, install and integrate new infrastructure.
  • Maintaining and upgrading key client and internal network communication architecture, infrastructure services and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Required skill(s): In depth experiences in installation, configuration, monitoring and management of Linux/Unix based operating systems and environments including shell scripting, proficient in Linux / Unix system setup and maintenance (Centos, Redhat, SUSE, etc.),
  • Experienced in DR planning and support requirement, and a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Firewall and VPN.
  • Preferred skill(s): Knowledge of MySQL databases, Juniper firewall and high performance computing environment would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passionate in learning new things
  • High level of motivation and energy
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in a multiple operating system support environment
  • Preferably Senior Executives specializing in IT/Computer - Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.
  • Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.This position involves frequent contact with our worldwide group of employees and sometimes customers whilst handling technical support related queries. To thrive in this role, excellent communication, management and organizational skills are required.
